Statement from Venezuelan Unions, published on Labor Today, October 21, 2023
We, the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores de Venezuela (CUTV) and the Frente Nacional de Lucha de la Clase Trabajadora (FNLCT), strongly and categorically condemn the genocidal assault of the Zionist government.
We strongly and categorically condemn the genocidal attack by the Zionist State of Israel against the Palestinian people. Horrified by the bombing of Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, which left more than 500 dead, the majority of them women and children, we reject the idea of bombing the hospital, women and children; we reject the humanitarian tragedy imposed on the Palestinians in Gaza, both by the Zionist enemy and by their European backers.
Palestinians in Gaza, both due to the unprecedented criminal violence and the extreme blockade to which they are subjected, are deprived of food, water, sanitation, health care, education, electricity and health care. They are without food, without water, without electricity, without medical supplies, which demonstrates to the whole world the determination of the State of Gaza to survive, and to the entire world the determination of the State of Israel to continue its campaign of extermination and genocide.
This campaign of extermination and genocide against the people of Palestine began more than 70 years ago.
Israel, with the unconditional support of the imperialist powers of the United States and Europe, is developing a plan to exterminate the Palestinian people. Israel implements this plan to exterminate an entire people, thus committing one of the greatest atrocities humanity has ever known.
The European Union is implementing a plan to exterminate an entire people, committing one of the greatest atrocities humanity has ever known, in blatant violation of international law and ignoring resolutions of the United Nations regarding the recognition of Palestine as a sovereign nation. We denounce the silence and complicity of the UN in the recognition of Palestine as a sovereign nation. We denounce the silence and complicit inaction of the UN. The State of Israel is nothing more than an enclave serving imperialist capital in the Middle East. This is why the United States and Europe are complicit in the crusade of extermination against the Palestinians.
The United States and Europe are complicit in the crusade of extermination against the Palestinians and block actions proposed by the United Nations Security Council. By blocking the actions proposed by the United Nations Security Council, they are active promoters of Zionist terror. Guided by the class principles of solidarity internationalism, we join in the clamor of the working class demanding that the UN Security Council take action against Zionist terror, the clamor of the working class across the world for respect for life, sovereignty and peace for Palestine.
