Workers World condemns Trump’s latest war moves against Venezuela. His declaration on “Truth Social” of a “no-fly zone” in all of Venezuela’s skies and the surrounding area is blatantly illegal and a brazen violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty.
Venezuela’s government has rightly called this latest act of aggression a “colonialist threat” that “represents a hostile, unilateral and arbitrary act, incompatible with the principles of international law.” (Reuters, Nov. 29)
Only Venezuela can legally declare a no-fly zone in its territory. Any attempt to forcibly impose this illegal air blockade will be met with resistance, in Venezuela and around the world.
Millions of Venezuelans have been mobilized to defend their country from U.S. imperialism. Workers World Party is in full solidarity with them and with the Bolivarian government in Caracas.
Polls show 70% of people in the U.S. oppose Trump’s war against Venezuela. We demand money for food, housing, education, health care and jobs, not war!
