UNAC Statement, December 7, 2024
In South Korea the president Yoon Suk Yeol attempted to impose martial law on the country but failed. Why did Yoon do this? Some say it was because of the corruption of the government and the fact that he was unpopular. Is this a reason for martial law? South Korea is basically a client state of the US. Did the US know of this coup? They most certainly did. The US did not really oppose it. They said nothing about sanctions or restoring democracy, etc. as they have in the country of Georgia or other countries where people the US government doesn’t like were elected. The US has tens of thousands of its troops in south Korea and by South Korean law, they have the right to take command of the South Korean military whenever they want. Could the South Korean government really impose martial law without their permission?
Why would the US want this? Well, they claim there are North Koreans fighting with Russia in the Kursk region. Russia has denied this and there have been no reports of Koreans being captured or killed. The US and the UK used this false allegation to allow for the use of their long-range missiles to be shot into Russia. As we know, these long-range missiles need US and UK personnel for logistics and trained personnel from these countries to fire these technically advanced weapons. This action has left us on the brink of nuclear war.
On Wednesday, the French government fell, and other European governments are in trouble, there is strong opposition to sending more weapons to Ukraine in Europe and the European countries do not really have any more weapons to spare, neither does the US. But South Korea, which also has US nukes on its territory, does have weapons that could be sent, maybe even troops. But apparently, their laws do not allow them to do this. So, could this be the reason for a Yoon to declare martial law? The Ukraine government has requested this type of aid from South Korea and recently South Korea sent a delegation to NATO headquarters to discuss the potential of sending “weapons and personnel” to Ukraine according an article in The Diplomat called “South Korea’s Deepening Dilemma Over Ukraine.”
What about Syria? It is strange that the US supported terrorist forces in Syria have cropped up again right at this time, just as Biden is leaving office. Perhaps the US thought that this might take Russian forces away from the fighting in the Ukraine as well as bringing Hezbollah forces to Syria which would aid Israel in its genocide.
The Biden administration is desperately trying to make sure that the Ukraine military does not fall before Trump comes into office as the Russians take one town after another daily. On Wednesday, Blinken told the Ukrainians that they had to lower the age that they can draft people into the military to try and stave off the possible collapse of the Ukraine military.
The reality is that Russia has turned out to be more than a “gas station posing as a country.” It today has the 4th largest economy in the world according to the International Monetary Fund and has out produced and out fought the US/NATO/Ukraine alliance that was intended to destroy them. The harsh sanctions have not affected the Russian economy too much and the Russian people overwhelmingly support the war effort while the Western economies and political systems are all in crisis. Today, the BRICS countries have a combined wealth greater than that of the G7 countries.
The US empire is ending, which may give the developing countries the space to develop and perhaps we will see an end to the US wars, sanctions and repressive economic structures. This will be a difficult and desperate time for the US and that brings great danger to the rest of the world, but it is the path that we must go through to end Western imperialism and bring about the hope of a better world.
