U.S. officials have chosen to operate outside the bounds of law and basic morality — from supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza and illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank, to launching a direct military strike on Venezuela and kidnapping President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, to escalating repression against migrants and racialized communities inside the U.S. itself that has even led to murder. These are not isolated policies, but interconnected expressions of an empire that uses violence in the U.S. and abroad to enforce its dominance.
The Anti Fascist Football Coalition, comprised of key organizations in the countries hosting the World Cup 2026 (Canada, Mexico, US), are collaborating to implement shared objectives, strategies, and tactics in two phases to Boycott the World Cup and Boycott the U.S.
Phase 1
- Demand that FIFA move the games from the US.
- Outline mass resistance from all of our bases.
Phase 2
- Expand, support, and guide mass resistance to the World Cup and the broader U.S. war on working class and colonized people.
- Coordinate on-the-ground resistance strategies and tactics.
The first match in the U.S. is on June 12, this Friday!

We, the undersigned organizations and individuals, endorse the call of the Anti-Fascist Football Coalition for the international community to boycott the 2026 World Cup and to boycott the United States for as long as U.S. authorities continue to operate beyond the bounds of international law and accepted human rights standards.
Our Position
International sport is not politically neutral. Mega-sporting events generate legitimacy, normalize state violence, and mask repression under the language of “unity” and “celebration.”
At this historical moment, hosting international sporting events in the United States serves to legitimize:
The role of the United States as a principal enabler of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The consolidation of a domestic architecture of repression, including mass surveillance, militarized policing, political targeting, racialized detention, and enforced disappearances.

U.S. imperial gangsterism, reflected in its actions against sovereign nations, including the siege of Cuba, aggression against Iran, and ongoing efforts to undermine the sovereignty of Venezuela.

The use of immigration enforcement as a tool of terror directed against Black, Brown, Indigenous, migrant, and immigrant communities.

The normalization of white supremacy, reflected in the willingness of international institutions to allow the world’s premier sporting event to be hosted by a state implicated in crimes against humanity, war crimes, and complicity in genocide committed primarily against non-European peoples.

The erosion of due process, civil liberties, and freedom of movement, affecting residents, citizens, international visitors, students, athletes, and fans alike.
From a People(s)-Centered Human Rights perspective, these practices constitute violations not only of individual rights but also of the collective rights of peoples and nations to security, dignity, sovereignty, self-determination, and peace.

Supporting coordinated education, organizing, advocacy, and mobilization efforts in World Cup host cities and internationally to challenge the normalization of U.S. lawlessness, racism, and imperial violence.

Amplifying the voices of peoples and communities directly impacted by militarization, displacement, economic coercion, state violence, and political repression in the United States and throughout the world.

Advancing a People(s)-Centered Human Rights vision that places the dignity, sovereignty, and collective rights of peoples above the interests of empire, while contributing to the construction of a decolonial human rights movement dedicated to human liberation.
