I agree with your analysis as far as it goes. For the initial 2/3 it sounded as though immigration to the US is the best solution for Haitian people. I agree that ending TIP status is horrible, but no one should have to leave their home and family just to be safe. The U.S. has screwed up Haiti’s politics for too long, along with the UN and of course France and the IMF, so let’s keep them out of the solution. But is there no help for Haiti? I had hoped that you would suggest one. Free and fair elections, yes, but how to get there? I don’t see Haiti as ready for them yet.
